Rick Annaert,
President & CEO, Manulife Securities

Rick Annaert was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Securities on November 7, 2005 and has continued in that role with the amalgamation of Berkshire Group into Manulife Securities.  Rick has developed an impressive resume in the financial services industry while working in insurance, mutual funds, bank and trust companies.  He joined the Manulife group of companies in 1998, as the Chief Financial Officer of Elliott & Page Limited.  In 2000, Rick moved over to Manulife in the former Savings & Retirement Services (SRS) business unit as Vice President, Product Management and Marketing.  As SRS transitioned into the current Individual Wealth Management business unit in 2001, Rick became the Vice President responsible for product planning and strategy. Rick moved into the role of Vice President Investment Products in the spring of 2004.

Before joining Elliott & Page and Manulife, Rick worked in the banking industry with Laurentian Bank for 10 years in leadership roles as Chief Financial Officer of its retail division and in branch network management in Toronto. Prior to that, Rick worked for two years at National Trust.

A Certified Management Accountant, Rick also worked in public accounting for nearly five years, specializing in small-business accounting.  Rick holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University.
